Today I had Kapa Haka.
This practise was good as I was getting back into the kapa haka routine after the holidays.
We went through our cultural festival routine twice.
The teachers told us we needed to sing louder after we went through out cultural festival routine the first time.
So after that when we went through it a second time everyone sang louder.
After that the people who were doing short poi had to stay a little longer to practise there short poi so kapa haka finished earlier.
Overall it was a good practise and all I need to do now is get my long poi perfect!
Care value:
The Care Value I used was Respect as I showed resilience when long poi got hard because sometimes you can hit your short poi against the person next to you or around you.
Leadership:
I showed leadership by being an active thinker and finding a way to make my steps in time with everyone else for one of our songs.
Role Model:
I was a role model by listening to the commands and doing them correctly.

Librarian
this week i did Librarian twice.
I did it first on Thursday as I wanted to help my friends out, I did it today also as its my usual time.
Firstly on Thursday it went nicely I read to 2 little girls who liked me reading Barbie books and Spot The Dog Books to them.
Thursday was a good day to do librarian as sometimes it takes a while to find little kids but a little kid wanted me to read to them straight away!
On Friday I also read to two different little girls and i read a Charlie and Lola book, Sleeping Beauty and Harley Mclary.
I liked reading all those books as they were different and the little kids liked the books.
Overall on Thursday and Friday Librarian went well!
Care Value:
The care value I used was Active Thinking by choosing some different books to see if they're just as popular as the books I usually read.
Leadership:
I used leadership making sure the little kids had a good selection of books to choose from.
Role model:
I was a role model by treating the library equipment with respect.

At Technology and on the bus
This week is the first week of term 1 and it was mainly getting back in the routine of everything.
On the bus I think I showed all the care values.
the bus wasn't loud this week witch was good!
At technology my class is cooking and we cooked pikelets, they actually ended up really good!
After cooking we did some reflection related stuff and also had a sneak peek at what we were cooking next week, witch I'm pretty sure we're cooking burgers next week witch sound really yummy!
On the bus ride on the way back the bus 2 (my bus) got a really nice bus, it was really big!
Overall i think I displayed the care values on the bus and at technology.
Care value:
The care value I showed was respect I talked at a good noise level to my bus buddy so the bus driver could concentrate, I also showed respect because on the way back to school my bus buddys class was running a little late so I just started reading respectfully.
Leadership:
I showed leadership by being an active thinker for the pikelets as we added a little more oil to the pan and they cooked really well!
Role model:
I was being a role model as I was being safe on the playground because some of the playground can be dangerous if your not careful.

Modelling book
The pythagoras theorem can be hard when you first start but the easiest way to remember is doing a2 + b2 = c2.
so you times 12 x 12 and 16 x 16 witch are 144 and 256, then you add 256 to 144 witch equals 400 then you find the square root of 400 witch is 20! then you add 20 to 12 and 16 witch equals 48!
For area you do 8 divided by 2 and the answer is 4. so the answer is 4.
The difference between area and perimeter is that perimeter is + and area is x.

apply the techniques of improvisation to a range of different scenarios.
W.A.L.T apply the techniques of improvisation to a range of different scenarios.
Improvisation TECHNIQUES that I have used successfully are, thinking on my feet because if I did a random improvisation before these drama lessons I wouldn't know what to do.
Improvisation TECHNIQUES that I would like to have more practise at is being more confident and putting myself out there more, reason being I found myself to be a little shy to go on stage.
The thing that I enjoyed most about this unit of learning was selling a new invention game because I enjoyed having a go at it and watching other people perform it.
The thing that I found most challenging during this unit of learning was putting myself out there to perform in front of everyone because I felt to nervous to perform.
My favourite improvisation game was family portrait or selling and invention game because I liked freezing in a funny position and I liked making up a script on the spot to pretend to sell something.
My next step/ something I need to work on further in improvisation is putting my hand up to perform more because if an activity was optional I usually wouldn't volunteer to do it.

I am proud of my progress/ I am doing ok/ I feel I could do much better.

I think I'm doing very well in my care ticks as I only need 2 more ticks until have achieved my bronze.

The area of CARE that I need to try harder in C / A / R / E
as I have the least amount of ticks in that area and I just think I could do better in that area.
To achieve my BRONZE/SILVER award quicker I need to really focus on finishing some of the care boxs as There are a lot of boxs with only 2 ticks.
The one thing that I can do to improve my progress in CARE is to make sure I record the next ticks I get as soon as possible as I'm very close to my bronze.
We will review CARE progress again at the end of the term.

Librarian
Today I had Librarian.
As usual we brought some bean bags as it had cleared up by the afternoon.
I brought 3 books with me but only read one, witch is quite weird as i usually read lots of books.
But this book was different as it was rather long and had lots of quizs.
I enjoyed reading the book It was a lego friends book witch I saw right before I was going to head to the junior area.
I actually found the book rather interesting as it had some quizs witch I did with the girl I was reading.
Overall I enjoyed reading to the little girl.
Care value:

Helping Out Around The School
This week is Maori Language week and one of the activities is origami so Mrs Baker emailed me and lots of other people if they could help out with it I helped out yesterday with the little kids.
Yesterday the little kids were making paper lanterns first we gave out crayons so they can decorate the lantern, after that we supervised the cut strips of paper, after that we help them do the gluing and the they're done!
I did enjoy helping the little kids and we got some cool photos in.
After all the little kids were finished we had a group photo with Mrs Ward then we had a funny photo of us dabbing witch was so funny!
Care Value:
the Care Value I used was Excellence because I made sure the little kids had all there laturns to a high standard.
Leadership Trait:
The leadership trait i used was motivational because i had to show lots of little kids how to do it so they could help each other all there were more little kids then helpers.
Being a role model:
I was a role model by Making sure to help all the little kids and making sure it was done well as some little kids forgot to cut a handle so I had to cut a handle on a piece of paper for many little kids.

I felt like it was a very good practise because I got to stay for the whole practise because Te Hapua wasn't on today.
We ran through put cultural performance 2 times and both times went really well.
I'm also really improving on Poi as I have a lot more control with the poi.

Librarian
Yesterday I had Librarian.
We decided not to take the bean bags as people were already sitting on them so Zainab, Alica and I thought we didn't need them that much.
I read to 3 little kids I read 1 spot the dog book, two fairy books and a different book witch I can't remember the name of.
We usually read for 20 minutes and then we pack up the books and return them to the library.
If I could change something I would've read inside the library as it was very cold yesterday and there were some little kids in the library.
Overall I think it was a good session of librarian.
Care value/Learner quality
I think I used respect because I made sure everyone got a fair choice of what books we read as some people wanted to read different types of books.
Leadership Trait
I think I used resilience because I didn't stop half way through as it was rather windy yesterday!

This week I had an esol meeting and it was a little different!
Instead of the usual greeting people and helping them if they need help signing in and getting to room 16, Victor and I got to come to the first 15 minutes of the meeting to introduce ourselves as it's the last meeting of term 2!
I really liked staying for some of the meeting as I got to talk to some really nice people. When I introduced myself I said my name and a fact about my self. (My favourite sports Tennis.)
Overall I enjoyed greeting people at the start and going to the meeting.
Care value/learner quality
The Learner quality I used was communicate because I was very polite to the parents I talked to. I also had some very good conversations with some of them!
Leadership quality
The Leadership quality I used was Active Thinker because I escorted a lady get to a different meeting as she had no idea where room 17 was.
