Today I had Liberian and it was reading to the little kids again.
So me and my friends (as I asked them if they could help as the usual person I do it with wasn't at school today) got the bean bags out and went to the Junior area to read to some books.
I read books that both boys and girls like and my friends read more girly books
Overall i'm really enjoy Liberian.
The Care value I used was community because I was turning up for my job.

An Effective Leader
WALT Describe the traits of an effective leader
In the classroom We've been Learning about the traits of an effective leader and how we can be a good leader and what leadership means to us.
Here are the 6 traits that we thought as a class an Effective Should have.
Integrity: Integrity says to me honestly, pride and nobility and just helping people out and being kind in general.
Goal focused: Trying your best to something and only focusing in one activity to complete to your highest standard to do right.
Trustworthy: people know you're reliable and can trust you with helping them out or filling in for them with a job they have e.g PALS.
Active Thinker: Thinking about your actions where you should do your school work and how you can be a better leader in general.
Resilient: Never giving up on something even when it gets really difficult.
Motivational: motivate people to do there best in everything and be a role model role and a inspiration.
Here is my example of an activity I have been working on it's based of Ewan Cameron
My next step is to make sure to show these all the time.

Example of this trait
|
Why is this an example of this trait
|
Integrity
|
He has always been honest about what he’s making and how he’s making it
|
Because making food is probably rather risky and he’s always being honest
|
Trustworthy
|
Making food that people eat, might contain trust that’s people might not Realise but luckily Ewan keeps all the food up to scratch.
|
Because making sure the machines are working and everything is right must be a lot of work even if you have your worker doing it but being a manager.
|
Resilient
|
Until 2012 all the fair trade company’s that were in Europe were made into big factories so it made it hard for NZ to keep up.
|
Because you need to work really hard to get things back on track especially if you’re running a big chocolate factory.
|
Active Thinker
|
As a fair trade company he has to think importantly about what he’s doing ect
|
Because it must be hard getting the best out of everything as the chocolate factory is rather small compared to the ones all around the world.
|
Goal Focused
|
As he is always focused to make quality chocolate that people would enjoy.
|
Because he’s working very hard on whats
|
Motivational
|
He has motivated his workers to work well and try there best
|
Because he is the boss of his chocolate factory and he has many workers checking the machines.
|
My next step is to make sure to show these all the time.

Swimming Sports
Today we had the Kauri Team swimming sports competitions, I was doing free style and backstroke in lengths and in backstroke I came 2nd I was really happy that I came a place and also 2nd!
We also had some fun house games which were collecting all the objects in the pool as fast as you can.
And there was a splash competition but Rata didn't do very well on either of those, Overall I had lots of fun at swimming sports!
The Care value I used was Respect as I tried to stay resilient.

Librarian
Today I did Librarian as tomorrow is my normal Librarian day but it is swimming tomorrow so I decided to help out today. So me and my friends got some picture books and headed to the Junior area and we read in separate areas. I read two books to a small group of little kids and after that we were finished and made the most of the rest of lunch.
Overall I enjoyed reading to little kids and looking forward to it the future.
The Care value I used was Active Thinking because I knew swimming sports was the next day.

Reflection of my Excellence badge
Reflecting on how I have became a better leader by doing home learning challenges and leadership blog posts, I have learnt about sorting things out in peer mediation and how to solve problems without involving teachers. Also doing this over the year I feel like I have matured by doing these things.
Also it has made me want to do my dutys more and doing a but extra so I can blog about it.
Overall the leadership badges, home learning Challenges have made me a better leader and have helped me understand leadership.

Kapa Haka
Today I had Kapa Haka.
First as a warm up we went through a quick song and then did our school song.
We also did Poi but some of us (including me need to go slower so that what i'm working on.)
We also are adding a new song with possible actions. I am also looking forward to opening up the Halwell cafe and library as I really enjoy performing in the Kapa Haka.
Overall I am now going to try and go slower while doing the poi so I can be more in time.
