My story based of the book wonder

W.A.L.T: Use a wider range of adjectives.

Based of the book wonder:

So, mum persuades me to join a 'sports' team whitch i honestly HATED the sound of but she said it would be a good way to make friends.
When i got there i didn't want to be noticed, so while the coach was talking i was just staring at the muddy, slippery grass floor. I didn't relise we had to buddy up until via tapped me on the shoulder and said "look over there, theres a boy on his own go and ask him." By the time i took one step the boy walked away with this boy who looked really similar to him.
As there was nobody left because no one wants to buddy up with me i had to buddy up with the coach, all we had to do was kick a soccer ball to each other.
After the warm up was the game i offered to be a sub for 20 minutes.
Then the coach told me in a firm voice that I'm swapping with our teams best player
So i wasn't the happiest to but i did.
As my apperiance is different in the game no one passed the ball to me and i didn't want to tackle anyone.
In the car on the way home my mum asked me how it was i told her it was fine even though it i didn't like it at all.
The next week i was honest and told my dad in a upset tone what i really thought, my mum told the coach and his advice was to finish the rest of the season but maybe don't put saterday sports into consideration.

My goals

1. To be better at reading, writing and maths.

2. To be much better at te reo.

3. To try and get into the canta maths team.

My forensic scientist report

forensic scientist

I have decided to study a Forensic Scientist because it has always interested me and fascinated me because I think its amazing how its much easier to solve a crime with Forensics. Also how they use DNA samples to track down people.

Qualifications:

  • You need to excell in the subjects English, Chemisry, Maths and Biology.
  • Research skills.
  • Practical skills for peforming experiments and operating scientific epuipment.

How long will it take to qualify?

In University to get a degree in Forensic Science it would take around 2-5 years.

Pay:

Forensic Scientists do get paid very well and thats a reason why it attracts people to get the job. A Forensic Scientist that assists crime investigations usually earn around $40K-$80K a year. A Forensic Scientist that does more research earns around $55K-$130K a year.

Statictics:

In the year 2010 there was only 103 Forensic Scientists in New Zealand. In 2011 there was only 102 Forensic Scientists in New Zealand and in 2012 there was only 109 Forensic Scientists in New Zealand . So the chances of becoming a Forensic Scientist are rather low as also there is strong competition. Maybe applying in a more populated country where there is more likely to be crime would give you more of an opportunity.

The kind of Forensic Scientist i'm interested in becoming, is testing DNA (Deoxyribonucleic Acid) samples.
Even though the chances of becoming a Forensic Scientist is poor, do I still want to be one? YES!! I think the job of a Forensic Scientist is interesting and awesome!!
