Athletics

What: we have just competed in the kauri athletics 

So what: 

I was proud if high jump because I came 4th 

The most challenging one was long distance because i got tired easily 

I want to be able to throw the discus ALOT further 

I was really surprised at long jump because that's my worst one and I didn't do that bad in it 

Now what:

Next time i want to come a place in high jump

How I should try my hardest to come a place 

Numeracy strategy

What: learn a range of + and - strategies to solve problems.

So what: solve - problems that involve using decimals numbers

Now what: be faster at solving decimal problems.

Life long learners

What: to show that learning never stops we have identified what we learnt in the holidays

So what: in the holidays I learnt how to plug my DVD player in because my brother likes to use mine and when's he's finished I'm always clueless of what to do with it and how to make it work again because if I do it wrong my TV makes a annoying buzzing sound but luckily my dad helped me and it's very easy he just told me where to plug it in and what are the exact plugs the yellow, white and red go in.

Oakland's acrostic poem

O: opportunities oaklands has lots and lots of opportunities like production, kapa haka, choir and other learning opportunities

A: always prepared, oaklands is a very prepared school, when camp comes up they always prepare what we're doing.

K: kauri/kakano team, oaklands has 2 year teams kakano (juniors) and kauri (seniors) kakano is year 1-3 and kauri is 4-8.

L: loads of fun, oaklands has lots of fun subjects and can make everyday learning fun.

A: art, there are lots of art related work at oaklands for the people who are interested in that kind of stuff.

N: news crew, there is a news crew at oaklands they report the latest news/gossip

D: duty teachers, duty teachers help solve/resolve problems that happen at oaklands.

S: sport, there are lots of sports news at oaklands like winter sport, cross country and swimming sports.

Tech

On Tuesday the year 6's went to tech to replace the year 7 and 8's for a day, it's was super fun and my favourite was science here is a photo of the things I made: 

My favourite thing to do was science because that's something I really like.
